After my B Tech, I was busy working a 9 to 5 job. I was always wondering how will it help me fulfill my life goals. Now, with 17 years of rich experience behind me, I am certain the Direct Selling Industry will surely grow exponentially. After the Government introduced the Direct Selling Guidelines in 2016, I realized that this industry is now in very safe hands and my career is bright and secure. I am from Chandigarh. I completed my MBA in Marketing and doble post-graduation, MA in Economics and MA in Human Rights. I am from a village called Maksudanpur of Samastipur district in Bihar. My father had a small job yet he used to try beyond his capacity to fulfil the needs of his family. Considering the financial situation, I took up an early job during my graduation from Guwahati University for a monthly salary of Rs.3000/-. I am from Pune, Maharashtra. After completing GNM in Nursing, I slogged for 8 years earning just Rs.500/- to Rs.5000/- per month. During this phase, I got married and had 2 children. Though me and my husband were working hard to bring up our children, it was not sufficient. I quit a well-paying government job to start my direct selling business as soon as I realized that it is a trillion-dollar industry. I am from Pune, but originally from a village called Sadhdi near Mount Abu, Rajasthan. I was born in a royal family. However, 40 years ago, girls were considered as a burden in some Rajasthani villages. I was the 5th girl-child born when everyone was eagerly expecting a baby boy and I was later told by my grandma that the day I was born the house was like a mourning house and for almost 6 months my father and other family members did not even look at my face.

At the age of 5, I was forced to get engaged to a guy who was 10 years elder to me and as I was schooling, at the age of 12, I was forced to marry and at the age of 13 I delivered a baby. By the age of 20, I was the mother of 2 girls and a boy. When I was 21-22, my husband got married to another woman without a formal divorce. I was completely shattered and given up hopes on my personal life. I neither got any support from in-laws or my own parents. But looking at my 3 innocent children, I gathered courage and committed to live for them.

I had never done any business till then, whatsoever. But I managed to sell my mangala sutra and started my own business of selling sarees from door to door. I educated my children in Hindi medium. Later, to expand my business I took some bank loans but my loan amount kept increasing. Bank kept threatened me to repay their loans on time. I had a total loan of Rs. 40 Lakhs. They say, in these modern times, God may not personally appear but he appears through some friends and well-wishers. During this time, a 17-year-old young boy introduced me to the direct selling business and introduced me to an exciting business. Though I was not educated enough to do this business, I was under heavy financial loss. Hence, I started this business as I was completely pushed to the wall.

The power of direct selling is such that I worked in that company for the next 12 years with 100% focus and I not only could clear off my bank loans of Rs.40 Lakhs but also went on to buy my own house in Pune worth Rs.1 Crore and a luxury car too. I gave decent education to my children – my one daughter is computer science graduate while the other one is a CA. I arranged the marriage of one of my daughter’s recently. My son is now into his export business. All this I could do only from direct selling business.

During the lockdown, my company could not progress further and hence I started looking out for an alternate option and I found SHPL. I cautiously started off by buying SHPL products and retailed them to many of my friends including doctors. They not only liked the products but also re-ordered. After 3 orders, I officially joined the SHPL business and started with a SHPL gallery too first with Rs.50,000 and then with Rs.2 Lakhs and currently a super gallery in Pune with Rs.25 lakhs inventory. I have literally started this business with ‘zero’ without any kinds of support but in a years’ time I am proud to be a Triple Crown Ambassador.

For me, this is just the beginning or like a movie trailer. The real show is yet to begin.
